Duty to rescue injured animals in Ciutadella (Spain)

The new ordinance for the protection of animals of the city of Ciutadella (Menorca-Spain), establishes the duty to rescue injured animals. The new ordinance which is in force since last December 30th, states that if a driver runs over a free roaming animal (dog or cat)  he has the obligation to take the animal to the nearest veterinary clinic. If the person does not comply, the resulting fine would be up to 750 euros. (spanish)
