Norway: NSAVA supports responsible breeding

The Norwegian Small Animal Veterinary Association has focused on unhealthy breeding, and in particular brachycephalic breeds during the last couple of years.

NSAVA has been in meetings with politicians regarding unethical breeding, puppy mills and the need for both mandatory ID-chipping all dogs, cats and reptiles and also the need for government regulation of breeding.

In the Netherlands agriculture minister Carola Schouten has sent new rules covering the breeding of flat faced dogs to parliament in an effort to reduce the health problems many dogs suffer from.
