Dutch to crack down on breeding of dogs with too short snouts

The Dutch government moves to enforce welfare crackdown on some 20 brachycephalic breeds.

The government has announced it is to actively enforce laws designed to prohibit the breeding of those dogs, which are dogs with muzzles considered to be too short.

Last year FECAVA adopted a Europe-wide position paper on this topic, to raise awareness about health and welfare issues associated with excessive breed-related traits such as brachycephaly.
